Awakening to the Light
Meditation session. 1987. I am lying on the bed. No worries. No concern. No particular plan. Simply relaxed and allowing my mind to empty all thoughts of being or knowing. In a flash, I realize I am out of my body, floating in the corner of the room, and looking down at the form on the bed.
Amazed by what I can see and at the state I have shifted to, I see my eyes on the body are closed and then I look closer at the shimmering, gold ball of light hovering just above the solar plexus of the form. It looks like a mini sun and I know that other ball of light is also me because – from that ball of light – I have the ability to ‘see’ all of my surroundings, the floating me, the orb me, and the physical me.
The awareness is thrilling. I knew from previous OBE experiences that I could travel and exist in spirit form but this third position of awareness is new and a huge revelation.
It seems I have complete functionality in this glowing orb-like state. Total presence. Mind, body, spirit. It comes to me, a word that speaks to this state. “Trinity.” A term I vaguely remember.
One catalyst for spiritual growth at that time in my life was my focus on the teachings from ‘A Course in Miracles’. I practiced meditation with the intention of expanding my awareness. Open to new ways of thinking and being, learning how to expand my worldview, reaching for higher knowing. That transcendent OBE triggered a huge shift in consciousness.
Beyond doubt, I knew part of me existed in a fully awakened state of being and that there was so much more to ‘me’ than a physical shell or even a light body double. Unlike previous OBE travels, I experienced the ‘me’ that is real and beyond limit, a glowing sun of connectivity to the greater all-that-is.
I saw myself as I existed in a physical body. I saw I had a light body double that existed in tandem with that physical shell. And there was more. I was entirely at home and able to – see without eyes – all that existed around me while I inhabited a sphere of glowing light. It was an incredible space to be.
The gift in that experience was knowing that while housed in this physical body/human form, we are entwined in a collective unit of three. “The Trinity.” It’s been years since I have addressed this aspect of my OBE.
Here is a relevant interpretation: A Trinity doctrine is commonly expressed as the statement that the one God exists as or in three equally divine “Persons”, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Trinity is a unity of these three persons in one Godhead. Christians believe that God is three in one, not three Gods, but different forms of the same thing. Each person of the Trinity is fully God but the three persons are not the same. Source.
Also relevant is the Course in Miracles mantra I used at that time. “I am open to receive miracles.” Source.

OBE Influencer – Robert Monroe

Amazon Review edited: A hard book to put down once you start reading it. The experiences of Robert Monroe in an out-of-body state made for a fascinating story. I found myself hungry for more information that The Monroe Institute has discovered. I recently I went on their website and discovered a vast offering of free audio downloads. See their Resources section, Free Audio Downloads, and the Explorers section.
There are ~32 Explorer downloads – selected from their research archives of sessions with people in their OBE state reporting verbally what they are seeing/doing/experiencing. There is also interaction with entities or groups. But, my favorite is #23, which I’ve listened to 3 times now and learn more each time. In #23 Robert Monroe is with a group of people, looking back at his experiences and sharing what he currently does OBE. He also summarizes some of the findings of TMI after years of working with many people.In this recording Mr. Monroe shares that they have found that approximately 8% of people they have worked with (or does this extend to the human population?) are incarnated for the very first time as a human, some for the very first time as a physical being. His reflection (theory?) of life as waveforms is fascinating. There are some real gems in these recordings, and if you’ve read the books, you’ll recognize some of the recordings as stories/incidents in the books.

Synchronicity. Angel of February is Risk – Inspirational Message: “Step out of your comfort zone and into the unknown. Be bold, visible, and mindfully daring. Dance with uncertainty and live your life to the fullest.” Link.

Unexpected PSI Insight – Mediumship
“It’s a very honest, ordinary ability, that each one of you has. And you have witnessed it on a very little basis, but you will call it chance and coincidence… Is it?” – Alex Tanous.
In one of the most profound visitations I have experienced, Mr. Tanous presented me with a gift. I saw him in a vision: Arriving by limo, he got out and walked up to me in such a fashion that made it clear he had a mission of sorts. Special delivery as it were.
Greeting me with a broad smile, he extended his hands and deposited two gifts. He placed a small, wrapped present in my left hand. In the right hand, he gave me a celery stalk, the next generation sprouting in the growth of a fresh, mini stalk.
I continue to unpack the message of that image. I think the one that fits best today, given all that I have experienced and learned since the time of that dream, is: Rebirth. Life goes on.
Gifted with an eternal present in Rebirth. The physical body expires but energy of life continues in a new form. There is no death.
Ghosts – and expanded awareness
Think a ‘ghost/deceased’ person can’t interact or shift your personal space? Think again. They do it all the time – one has to become educated about that reality.
No one told me a ghost could affect me in such a way that I experienced a physical impact that made it seem like I had been given a shot of Novocaine. Following up, I was able to identify the deceased and receive his message. He was pleased to have been able to effect me with such a method that also provided a clue to his identity. No harm had been intended.
He expressed a desire to let it be known that his main concern was for the well-being of his father – and – although he was no longer in a physical form – he could choose to assist and participate from his new state. That part is worth emphasizing because he isn’t alone in that ability.
We shift form when we die. Where we go is determined from that state. Each path is unique.
Spirit helpers
Recapping my journal notes from earlier this week. I had oral surgery Monday. Meditating before I left the house, I felt a sharp pin prick sensation in my index finger. It stung – like a needle being inserted at the top joint. It continued long enough for me to register and address it out loud, saying, “Ouch!” It hurt.
Someone had just given me an acupuncture treatment. Curious. I followed up after my surgery, looking it up to see what issue that needle had been intended to address. Chart. Teeth and sinuses.
When the news hits home
Wednesday, 2.14.24, the morning of the big victory parade for the Kansas City Chiefs. As I was doing traffic, there was a palpable buzz in the air. I interpreted it as the collective vibe of the city celebrating a Super Bowl win. I know now it was something more.
Still recuperating from surgery, I laid down to take a nap around midday and got interrupted. I shut my eyes to relax and something bumped me on the left side of my forehead. It hit me with enough force that it knocked my head to the side and I jumped.
What the heck? My reflex emotion was indignance. First thought: Who did that? Second thought: Why was it necessary to ‘hit’ me?
I knew it was an attention seeking action. However, because I was irritated, I waited before responding. Too curious to hold out for more than a few minutes, I decided to check the news and that is when I found out about the shooting at the Chiefs rally. This is the summary of the events: Link.
I tuned in as the news broke with the suggestion of multiple victims listed as children. The tragedy immediately registered as a world news headline due to the tie in with the already headlining Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade celebration. Now tarnished with the stain of yet another US mass shooting.
Beyond that, my heart fell with the mention of a potential victim, identified as a local DJ [media]. It clicked. That was what the knock on the head was about. Her involvement was a significant piece. She would be a key figure in this tragedy.
I had inadvertently seen footage of a woman being loaded into an ambulance in the first images from the scene and then connected the photo to her. Shortly afterward, she was listed as a fatality.
The guides said her role/death had a purpose and she would be the only fatality. They also indicated that her position blocked others from being hit. It seemed that she had an awareness during this event – and a choice in the manner of her death. That is a soul contract, a personal matter. It doesn’t infer that she intended or wanted to die at this event.
We are limited in our ability to see the big picture with these events – and there are other factors in play. Even in the worst circumstances, although it can be hard to fathom, some deaths are intended to serve a higher purpose. And the souls involved are part of that scene.
On the physical plane, the senseless death of an admired, respected, beloved DJ – popular and established in her community [source], loved by her family – is apparently galvanizing yet another grassroots effort to rally for an end to circumstances that foster and perpetuate these tragedies.
Among the heroes:
- Deceased. Lisa Lopez-Galvan. “Elizabeth “Lisa” Lopez-Galvan was a natural at making people laugh. She was known as the office jokester, a DJ full of life and contagious joy and a passionate music lover who brought Kansas City a burst of culture through Tejano songs.” Link.
- Shielded a child. “A Louisiana State University standout turned Kansas City Chief is being hailed a hero for shielding a young Chiefs fan during Wednesday’s mass shooting.” Link.
- Comforted a child. “Jackson Mahomes ‘took care of a lost child’ in chaos of Kansas City shooting, claims a Chiefs fan on social media – who says she has ‘new respect’ for Patrick’s brother.” Link.
- Stopped a shooter. “It was just a reaction. He was running against [the flow of people] … the wrong way and there was another gentleman screaming out of the top of his lungs, ‘catch this guy, tackle him.'” Contreras told NBC’s “TODAY” Thursday morning. Link.
The community is addressing PTSD.

Donations have topped 3 hundred thousand for the {shooting victim} Lisa Lopez Memorial GoFundMe. On tour in Australia, Taylor Swift was one of the first to pledge her support with a one hundred thousand dollar donation. Link.
The shooting investigation continues. Two teens are charged. Source. Their role is another story. They do have one [at the very least, to push this narrative forward].

A shift in the light – increasing frequency
I mistook the vibe of the energy I felt that morning for collective enthusiasm of individuals involved in a large group celebration. In retrospect, I can sense a difference in the intensity. [This is why I avoid crowds. It can be overwhelming and confusing.]
Something is happening in conjunction with this scene on a higher plane. I have not inquired about the outcome. I accept the energetic buzz as an indicator of a shift in progress and that shift is accompanied by hope.
It might be such that, with the impact of the unique circumstances of this tragedy, as it continues to ripple – given the high profile, visibility, and clout of the individuals and organizations impacted – the collective response will allow for an upgraded and evolved process to make real change possible.
Again, I am reminded. We are not alone. Unseen others are helping. They want their presence and influence to register – to be called upon – allowed and invited to offer an assist. Angels are walking among us.
