Paranormal experiences offer insight into the greater reality. You are not crazy.

When I experience something, I believe it. I almost choked to death when I was a four year old and had a near death experience. I was very upset that I didn’t die because it was a lot more interesting out of your body than in it.Bernie Siegel

Spirituality and the paranormal

It is sometimes difficult to talk about personal paranormal experiences. I recently posted an interview with Karen E. Herrick PhD. She says the most common reason for keeping an extraordinary experience secret is fear of being labeled crazy. That includes NDEs.

Her thesis was entitled “Naming Spiritual Experiences”. 75% of the 133 mental health professionals she researched stated that they believed further education regarding spiritual experiences, near-death experiences (NDEs) and/or after-life experiences would be beneficial to them personally and professionally.

NDE fear of the “crazy” label is real. Deborah King had no idea how to explain her experience. Lacking background information or even language to define what had happened to her, she kept silent to avoid being considered crazy or abnormal.

Her second NDE is even more profound. She was told it is important for her to share her experiences.

My interview with Karen Herrick is posted at Wendy’s Coffeehouse.

And then there was actually a prompt for me to post this information. I had seen the video of Deborah earlier and thought it was perfectly timed for the interview with Karen and shared it elsewhere. Here is the cue.

Voices in the night

The guides have been working with me on mediumship but – as I have for several years – I am lukewarm to the idea. It happens and that’s that. I am not pursuing it. They seem to be more persistent now. The gift of Grandmother’s books is significant.

11.29.3012:30 AM. Again, I hear someone talking. This time, it is different. The voice is a female, like it is in the pillow and garbled. Not me. Someone is trying to talk with me but can’t quite make it clear enough for me to hear.

One of the experiences Karen Herrick describes is a Holy Spirit encounter during a Holotropic Breathwork training. Karen’s Website. She felt the breath coming through her.

3:30 AM. Awakened from a deep sleep. Looked at the clock and wonder why. My hand is near my mouth. I feel my breath near my wrist. Then I feel a breath near the thumb on my hand. Stunned, I feel the sensation of my breath on my hand, breathing in and out again, several times, to see if I can duplicate that sensation.

I couldn’t. It was a different angle and my hand was in the wrong position for the breath from my mouth to hit that same spot near the thumb. Wow.

I get up and realize my shirt is soaked. That didn’t register until I got out of bed. Changed the shirt, wondered what I had been dreaming because that left when I noticed the odd breath on my hand.

Figuring the point had been made, I returned to bed and put my hand under the cover so I could go back to sleep. More dreams. These I remember – consisting of images and emotions related to animal companions and stairways, fish aquariums with beautiful giant snails, and higher dimensions. On my way to the attic. I am supposed to remember the dreams.

  • House on a hillside. I see a pathway that follows the hill down to the beach. One dog is off leash and will come when I call. I have gathered the other 3 pets and am carrying my two cats and the small dog on my shoulders when a beautiful, very large black cat walks through the door. She is tame and lets me pet her as she passes without stopping. The only thing I said – to whomever else was in the other room was, “the cat is in the house. Panther/Jaguar. Totem Animal Symbolism. Link. Breath is important.

~ I have shape-shifted and experienced walking along a dirt path in the body of a big cat (Tiger) before. Grounding. Sensation in the paws is incredible and resonates through the physical form – beyond words – the ability to feel the heartbeat of the earth (weather, direction, other animals). This suggests an assist and more expansive awareness.

Interesting night. New energy phase.

On the nightstand

The majority of books I have from Grandmother are about astrology, given that was her primary focus. Mentioning that, I recently heard a new story about my Grandmother’s ability as an astrologer. A client who went to the same hairdresser was having a problem with itching. Grandmother told the client why it was happening and when it would stop. It stopped exactly as she said it would. The client has said she wished my Grandmother was still available to help with her health issues.

I am reading Inevitable Journey, by Donald Galloway, Amazon.

This is the Medium recommended by Grandmother. She had the utmost respect, spoke highly of him and booked several readings. The Amazon reviewer echoes her sentiments.

Amazon Review – “I met Don twice when I lived and worked in London around 1991-93. A Yorkshireman, he lived in North London. Each time I met him he would welcome me and shake my hand vigorously. His mediumship was extraordinary, rich in accuracy and detail. I consider it a pleasure to have met him. His book, his autobiography, sits at my bedside, and I dip into it often. It is the story of a man who, initially, refused to have anything to do with Spiritualism, and yet he became one of England’s foremost mediums. Don, it was a pleasure to have met you, and I hope that if Spiritualism exists ‘up there’ that you continue to make people’s lives that much better, for your gift is out of this world!

Of the [too many to count] books I have read on PSI development, authored by researchers and some written by psychics and mediums, this book is easy to recommend because of his writing style.

Although Galloway had the aptitude and awareness early in life, he was reluctant to step into the role of medium. Reading the details of how he gradually shifted his mindset and continually worked to validate the information he received to qualify his work is helpful to those who are undergoing their own shift in awareness.

Especially helpful to read his experiences with color ray healing and auras.

There is a learning curve. Working with Spirit Guides often requires getting used to different symbols or cues, as each is unique. As has been my experience, it can be easy to misinterpret information if it is assumed to be a normal or standard reference when it can also be applied to a specific element related to the scene.

An example: the word ‘corner’. Galloway saw a visual image of shops along a street and the word “corner”. He suggested the person had a shop on the corner. Almost there but not quite. The store referenced was in the middle of that block. Corner was the name of the owner. Half wrong and all right is easy to do. No matter how talented the medium, this form of communication is very much like charades. And one can have ‘off’ days.

“Even the most scientifically minded researcher should remember that it is all very well setting out to “test the mediums” (and thereby Spirit) but that the Spirit People may not particular wish to participate in the test.” p. 20.

Making connections with deceased loved ones and intelligent others who offer positive and encouraging support related to life challenges is an amazing testament to life beyond the physical. Researchers will draw their own conclusions. Experiencers will continue to learn and evolve their knowing.

Miracles happen

When his sister’s cat managed to slip out of an open window 50 feet up and was gripping the edge for dear life, he was sitting at a restaurant across the street and saw her. Immediately, he ran to stand under the window. He caught the cat. Source.
