A familiar visitor… only the dog can see

“I don’t believe that ghosts are “spirits of the dead” because I don’t believe in death. In the multiverse, once you’re possible, you exist. And once you exist, you exist forever one way or another. Besides, death is the absence of life, and the ghosts I’ve met are very much alive. What we call ghosts are lifeforms just as you and I are.”Paul F. Eno, Source. Footsteps in the Attic, Amazon.

Undisturbed

Another full moon weekend at our favorite space to get away. The dogs love it there – they get to swim.

Taken through the window – to avoid scaring the bird
who recovered from nearly drowning.

I was up early as usual and in the middle of writing something that required intense focus. Deep in thought, trying to get my wording and the corresponding links collected, I was also projecting the thought of keeping my space clear — equally intense in my focus (because Mom had not yet come downstairs and I needed her to stay put for a bit longer before starting breakfast or anything else): “Please don’t interrupt me, Mom, I have to get this down before I lose my train of thought. Please don’t come down yet.”

That part of my focusing about not being interrupted is important because – at that exact moment of all my intense focusing on writing and pleading not to be interrupted – Andy was trying to get my attention, quietly and discreetly. Trying to alert me without disrupting the action of the dog that was playing out in front and between the two of us.

The activity continued for several minutes while I remained intentionally ignorant of anything beyond the screen I was writing on. Also during that time, I had a thought that it would be better for me to shut myself in a room with a closed door to make sure I didn’t get interrupted, but that thought passed and I stayed on the couch – oblivious – and writing.

Andy finally tossed a magazine at me to shift my focus. He did it at the same time that I completed the segment.

I thought he wanted me to read something. Not at all. He was frustrated because I missed the show and amazed that I could have remained so completely oblivious to Cassie’s extraordinary actions and his desperate gestures trying to get my attention.

My wall had been that effective. Exactly what was it that had I missed?

Apparently, at some point during the time I set up my barrier, Cassie had been interacting and – judging from her happy response – entertaining an unseen companion. Andy said her actions indicated someone – not too tall- who would have been standing between the two of us. In other words, about 2 feet away from me.

My focus had been so complete that I was totally unaware. Whomever it was had no trouble putting her at ease. She responded with her happy face and clearly liked the attention. They were playing together.

The interesting thing is my intense sense that I needed to concentrate and hold the thought that nothing was going to interrupt my focus – the fear that Mom might appear at any moment and distract me. So, I blocked everything out while a very curious activity played out right under my nose.

Earlier in the week, someone had asked if ETs and non-physical others could be standing in front of us without our knowing. I affirmed they could – because I have had that experience.

And now I’ve had that experience again. Our visitor chose to connect with the dog and allow their presence to be known. I believe that was intended to make a point. Animals sense and see things we don’t. We can broaden our awareness when we pay attention to the things they notice in our environment.

The gift? Andy was present to witness the interaction between Cassie and her unseen friend and pass the message along to me. I am so grateful to have him helping me connect the dots.

Night light

February’s full moon, the Snow Moon, rose over Earth on Saturday, Feb. 24.

This ghost is no stranger. We’ve connected before. On at least one of those occasions the moon was full. I was sound asleep on the couch when I felt something brush softly across my arm.

Sensing a presence beside me, I opened my eyes to a blinding light. Annoyed, I told Andy to get the flashlight out of my face. No response from Andy. The light didn’t move. I shielded my eyes and realized the blinding light was the moon, shining through the skylight.

I asked – to whomever touched my arm – if there was a purpose for the contact.

The telepathic response was succinct. “There is magic in the moonlight. Sleep through it and you will miss it.”

Curious. There was an energetic difference in the space beside the couch when something touched my arm. I felt the fullness of someone standing there. Later, I noticed that the space beside me felt oddly empty.

With and without moonlight, some places, and the memories they evoke, are magical.

  1. This was an interesting read. I’ve always felt animals can sense things we don’t and I believe very young children can too. I remember noticing my babies now and then staring and sometimes smiling at something up high when there was nothing there. And I have felt that sensation that someone is near when no living person is there.
On a slightly different note your post reminded me of a poem I learned as a child ‘As I was going up the stairs I met a man who wasn’t there. He wasn’t there again today. Oh how I wish he’d go away.’ Kind of just seemed silly when I was a kid but now I wonder if the author of this poem was encountering some sort of invisible entity on his stairs. We’ll not likely ever know. Thanks for sharing.
