The important thing is not to stop questioning. – Albert Einstein
Intuition vs. Divine Intervention –
What happens when we ignore that intuitive prod? Depends. If it was a practice lesson, we keep going and nothing much changes, except – maybe we have a bit of regret that it might have been best to listen because we could have avoided a hard knock or two. If the situation is a life or death matter, there may be more to it.
Intuition is not subconscious personal bias or prior experiential modeling. Some of the current studies seem to suggest a general lumping of those things into the intuitive category. Consequently, the confusion and debate as to what intuition is, continues.
To be concise: Intuition is a survival tool and a guidance mechanism. Intuition is connected to that voice… sometimes a shout…that says “Get out!” just before the roof falls in. (It can be also be confused with Guardian Angels or Divine Intervention if we deny those experiences as a possibility.) So far, science can’t touch the source. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. They’re either going to have to work at it a little harder or come at it from a different direction. Most likely both. I believe it originates outside the brain and in the energetic field.
As for those of us who have experienced intuition in addition to those moments of engagement with life-saving intervention, we cannot all explain the who, what, why, or how of our lives having been saved…but we can say it is impossible to make it up. The gut feeling is there first. If we ignore it and the situation is dire, the big guns step in.
Whatever the case, when help is needed, it is there. That type of experience shifts your sense of awareness from the moment it happens. From then on, you stop taking everyone else’s version of reality as fact. You start to investigate and explore your own version and, if you can, share what you find. When you discover the fantastic stories others have to offer from their shifted reality, well, that is when life gets really interesting.
Metaphysics is a brave new world.
You are right on the money. We must learn to listen to our intuition. That voice that we hear is always right, it is not hampered by our ego, it is not derailed by our human desires. Listen and learn to listen all the time. That inner voice is always there, even though many of us have spent a life time attempting to bury it.
